The soundtrack to Conan the Barbarian, as cult as the film itself, was composed by Greek American Basil Poledouris (1945-2005), who also composed Lonesome Dove (Emmy Award for the Music Composition for a miniseries in 1989). The album also features the scores to Red Dawn, Farewell to the King and RoboCop, all by Basil Poledouris. Features special artwork by Laurent and Jack Durieux Released in 1982 and directed by John Milius, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan the Barbarian is a true masterpiece. As a child, Conan witnessed the massacre of his parents by the cruel Thulsa Doom, before being reduced to slavery.
