Released in 1970, Loaded was the fourth album from The Velvet Underground, and effectively their swansong, being their last to feature bandleader Lou Reed. More commercial that previous efforts, the record'€™s title refers to Atlantic'€™s request that the LP be '€œloaded with hits,'€ and in the likes of Sweet Jane and Rock '€˜N'€™ Roll, Reed delivered numbers which remain radio staples to this day. The album itself, meanwhile, is widely regarded a classic, and was ranked at #109 in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
