Recorded during sessions in 2010 and finished during 2019 following Masekela’s death, ‘Rejoice’ was the spectacular collaboration between South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela and Nigerian percussionist Tony Allen. Two titans of African jazz meet on this wonderful record, which proved to be the first posthumous release for Masekela and the final recordings for Allen, who passed away in 2020. The eight bonus tracks are reimaginings of the originals, with added, unheard elements from the 2019 sessions.
