The first Strokes album to enter the UK Albums Chart at #1, 'First Impressions of Earth' saw the band drop their two-time producer, Gordon Raphael, in favour of David Kahne (Paul MacCartney, Tony Bennett, Sublime), and return to the fray with an album noticeably bigger, brighter and brasher than its predecessors, admittedly with a touch more commercial polish. Regardless Casablancas' songwriting continues to sparkle, and Albert Hammond Jr's guitar lines are at their most irresistible.
