Slug Gore is a Deathgrind band based in Ravenna, Italy. The band's sound is the perfect fusion of European and other Grindcore sounds, American Hardcore sound, extending to Death Metal and Slam.
The concept behind their imagery follows themes such as Kaiju (from Godzilla to Ultraman), B-Movies (to which they have dedicated songs like "Underground Giant Death Machine" and "The Deadly Spawn"), Monster Movies, Cinematic Gore, and rotten Horror.
The project was born at the end of 2022 with the intention of creating something new and rule-free. Elements from various scenes and musical tastes have found a common ground in an uncompromising Deathgrind.
The lineup includes Sbocco, a vocalist with a Hardcore attitude and arrogant Death Metal growls; Danny, a drummer with a heavy beat and old-school grooves; Fuoco, a guitarist with rhythmic and violent riffs; and finally Amianto, a bassist with an aggressive and dirty tone.
In their first year, the band quickly built a fanbase, playing over 30 shows, many as headliners, and sharing the stage with major names like Meshuggah, Carcass, Soulfly, Brujeria, Cripple Bastards, Possessed, Mortuary Drape, Gatecreeper, Asphyx, etc., performing at various important Italian festivals such as Dissonance, Luppolo In Rock, Frantic, Venezia Hardcore, and inaugurating both of the first two editions of the new Built To Blast Festival. They also completed a mini Italian tour with Party Cannon.
After receiving great feedback with the release of an EP in February 2023 (Extraterrestrial Gastropod Mollusc), and a single in May (Mucus Chainsaw), the band release their first full-length album in April 2024, "They Slime, They Ooze, They Kill!"
The collaboration with Fiore, an iconic figure from the Italian Death Metal band "Fulci," concludes the track "The Deadly Spawn". And the participation of "Golem of Gore," renowned in the world of Goregrind, enhances the power of the track "Primal Rules."
