OSCAR SOMETIMES 7 INCH LP VINYL NEW 33RPM 45RPM
1. Sometimes
2. Still Like You
Oscar Scheller's - or simply Oscar - latest effort, a new garage-pop EP named 'Sometimes' - after his home studio (his bedroom) where he recorded these songs. The standout is the fuzzy power pop-rocker 'Sometimes' with it's blinking light synths, reverb-bleeding guitar riffs, and crashing percussion. It's rowdy, catchy, and upbeat. Think a mix of the Magnetic Fields, Swell Maps and Pavement.
Born from the melancholy of an unrequited soul trying to make sense of the harsh reality that is this world, Oscar aka Oscar Scheller sat in his bedroom making off-kilter bedroom pop. These songs made it out of the bedroom and onto the world wide web causing a startling reaction (Pitchfork).
Alas, nothing could be done as at the time Oscar was tied to the misled, over-subscribed, over-complicated corporate world of art higher education. He made it out!! In one piece. An EP was plucked from his bedroom musings and placed digitally thanks to Brown Rice/Smalltown Supersound has been given some great attention. Some have said it's criminally catchy bedroom guitar pop.
Oscar found two friends (one old, one new) to play with him and so it is now a three piece in live action.
