Metric are a Canadian indie-rock band fronted by Emily Haines. ‘Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?’ is their first album and was originally released in 2003. The album mixes angular indie rock with a more rounded, melodic sound that partly harked back to US indie rock bands of the 1990s and partly took indie-rock into the future. Includes the singles ‘Combat Baby’ and ‘Dead Disco’. Emily Haines is also a member of Canadian collective Broken Social Scene.
