Originally recorded on January 1st, 1970, Band of Gypsys is Jimi Hendrix’s first live album without his original group, the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It is also the last full-length Hendrix album to be recorded before his death. Shortly after its release, Band of Gypsys reached the top 10 of the album charts in the US and UK as well as appearing in charts in several other countries.
