Now-Again reissued six essential albums from the ’90s Memphis Rap scene in 2024, each licensed directly from the artists. This is the seventh, a classic by the scene’s center, Kingpin Skinny Pimp and his Gimisum Family and their self-titled album, recorded in 1994.

This album, like all reissued in this series by Now-Again, was originally released on rare tapes, only distributed in and around Memphis. This is the first time this album appears on vinyl, and for Record Store Day 2025 it’s pressed on limited edition galaxy silver & clear colored vinyl and comes in an OBI-wrapped jacket that contains an oversized 12 page book detailing the historical precedent, genesis and arc of this important American musical scene.
