Dave Brubeck's Time Out, the album that spawned the hit tune "Take Five", is one of the most successful jazz albums of all time and one that crossed over into popular music.

Featuring unusual time signatures on all its tracks, Time Out isdevoted to rhythms that had never previously been heard in jazz. All the compositions are by Brubeck apart from the album's hit 'Take Five', which was composed by the quartet's saxophonist, Paul Desmond.
