Originally released in 1980, this powerful double album marked a late-career highlight for vocalist Carmen McRae, joined by CTI jazz legends Freddie Hubbard, Hubert Laws, Hank Crawford, and Grover Washington Jr.
Far from simple covers, McRae reimagines pop standards like “I Won’t Last a Day Without You” (Carpenters) and “New York State of Mind” (Billy Joel) as soulful, jazz-drenched performances.

The set also features two distinct vocal takes on Grover Washington Jr.’s “Mr. Magic.” Now reissued for the first time in over 40 years as the full session, this 2LP reissue comes pressed both on heavyweight colored vinyl, and CD digipack version.
