Kranky describes Mat Sweet aka Boduf Songs as possessing alchemical powers based on his ability to take various musical instruments and transform their sound to create something deeply original, something that is not simply 'singer/songwriter' or 'folk'. It is the sonic detail enriching every song that I find most striking about Sweet's music. After releasing two astounding records, I wanted to hear more of what Boduf Songs had to offer and felt that offering the opportunity to record a Latitude.
