In the wake of a sequence of great singles starting in 2020, New Yorkers Been Stellar present their debut EP in 2022. This eponymous five-track effort sounds like an intelligent absorption of the city’s great lineage in indie-rock, but the endless Strokes comparisons don’t do justice to the five-piece’s sense of exploration - take EP closer ‘Ohm’, drawing on slowcore and math-rock influences.
