Grits and Cornbread is a superb, country-tinged rock album recorded at Olympic Studios in the UK.
This album features an impressive band and supporting cast, including Peter Frampton, producer Johnny Hallyday, Status Quo bassist Andy Bown, Spooky Tooth drummer Mike Kellie, as well as Bobby Keys, Doris Troy, and Madeline Bell.
Nanette Workman and Peter Frampton developed a notable working relationship in the early 1970s. Workman, a Canadian-American singer-songwriter and actress, collaborated with English rock musician Frampton on various musical projects. Their partnership extended beyond studio recordings to live performances during Frampton's tours, where Workman's powerful vocals complemented Frampton's dynamic guitar skills.
One of the highlights of their collaboration is this Workman record, which comes reissued for the first time, nearly five decades later, on heavyweight colour edition vinyl.
