Thundercat 'Distracted'

Our album of the week this week is the hazy and heartbreakingly smooth Distracted by 'cosmic funk mastermind', Thundercat.

It's hard to believe that Thundercat's last offering came six years ago. Throughout his career, he's managed an omnipresence in every style of music. It comes as now surprise to see the feature list so stacked (A$AP Rocky, Tame Impala, Channel Tres Willow w/ Greg Kurstin's maximalist production). However, the most striking feature of all comes from his late friend Mac Miller, whose effortless verse is a painful reminder of the talent we lost.

Like the title suggests this album isn’t satisfied with one style, but that isn’t to say it lacks cohesion. The web of fusion, hip-hop and yacht rock is undoubtedly Thundercat and lays bare emotions of grief, longing and imposter syndrome!
